Hi there, blogosphere! Long time no see!
For those of you not keeping up with D’s blog or keeping in touch by other means, we are now in Florida (state name: the Alligators With Mickey Mouse Ears State) – specifically, Fort Myers.

There are more palm trees down here than you can shake a stick at, unless you have a great deal of time and an extraordinarily patient stick.
Sun, beaches and other such things also abound.
There are worse ways to spend one’s time. That said, now that we’re starting to find a rhythm here, I fully intend to get back to more regular blogging, as well as writing, genealogy and music. Of course, the job hunt still has to take precedence over a lot of that, but hey. I’m back.

Welcome back, bro. Florida has some awesome fishing. Palm trees are great, except in high winds. The palm fronds make for some dangerous flying objects. Any gators your way? Spent some time in Ft Walton beach back in the late sixties. Loved it.
Hope you find a great job.
welcome back. I’ve seen those alligators with Mickey Mouse ears. they’re a ruthless yet fun-loving bunch.
@jammer5
Not much of a fisherman, honestly – I’m one of those people who doesn’t object to eating meat and fish just so long as someone else catches and kills it.
I have, however, heard that Florida is great for fishing, and having had a pretty massive fish swim lazily past me as I waded in the Gulf a couple days ago, I can believe it.
@f.B
I’m pretty sure they’re running some sort of protection racket on some of the local businesses. They’re definitely out way too early in the morning to be up to any good.
Good luck on the job hunt. Selling your self can be a big part of that. Like selling a product. Hope it works out.
@unstranger
Thanks – no takers yet, but I haven’t given up hope.
