I’m always looking to improve my writing, and this blog is as much a part of that as any of my attempts at fiction. As such, I decided to try the “31 Days to Build a Better Blog challenge”.
Task #1 is to write an elevator pitch for the blog itself. For those unfamiliar with the phrase, this is a description detailed enough to interest a potential reader but short enough to be conveyed during the course of a shared elevator ride.
So:
This blog is music and politics, religion and soccer, parenthood and philosophy.
It is zeitgeist and je ne sais quoi and porquería in roughly equal measure.
It is sometimes funny, sometimes insightful, sometimes updated more than twice a week.
And, above and beyond all that, it is me. In an increasingly large nutshell.
Any thoughts?
I have always struggled with what my pitch would be. And so I’ve somewhat defaulted to just repeating the title and subtitle of the blog as if they’re self-explanatory.
But I like this; especially the idea of an increasingly large nutshell.
Thanks for that – it’s hard to define a blog which has no single theme but is rather a random brain dump on whatever subject has temporarily grasped my whimsy.
I tend to look at the nutshell using a standard inflationary-theory model, since it would break down if examined at a quantum level.
